During April, HAT members are meeting with their legislative representatives on the Hill to pass legislation that will protect homeopathic medicines, which are under thread of FDA!
Homeopathy Action Team (HAT) is a group of volunteers with Americans for Homeopathy Choice Action, a national consumer organization working to pass legislation to restore and protect access to the full range of homeopathic medicines which are under threat from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
FDA historically recognized homeopathic medicines as a unique and separate category of drugs since 1938
The FDA historically recognized homeopathic medicines as a unique and separate category of drugs in the 1938 Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, which are primarily available in retail stores as safe, nontoxic natural health products. The FDA has regulated the manufacture and sale of homeopathic medicines under the Act for over 80 years.
In 2022 FDA changed the law to say that all homeopathic products are “unapproved new drugs”
In 2022 FDA changed the law to say that all homeopathic products are “unapproved new drugs” that are “marketed illegally” and subject to premarket approval. This means the FDA can and has removed products from the market without any evidence of safety issues but solely based on this new interpretation.
California HAT members of District 36 met with congressman’s Ted Lieu assistant, Felix Wu on April 10th about passing the Legislature to protect Homeopathic Remedies in U.S.
On April 10, 2025 our HAT CA-36 team of three, all from California 36 Congressional District met with Felix Wu, who is a Legislative Assistant to Congressman Ted W. Lieu.
Congressman Ted Lieu represents California’s 36th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives.
HAT CA-36 Meeting Overview
There are three (3) volunteers for HAT in the California 36 Congressional District: Julie Mann, Claudia Reisenberger, and Lana David. Claudia and Lana joined one year ago, in 2024. Julie Mann, CCH, RSHom (NA) is a homeopathic practitioner and has been a HAT volunteer from the beginning.
Julie has been communicating with Felix and Legislative staff on the Hill for several years, and has now been directing us in this process. Our group first met in person at a cafe to branch ideas and then we had a practice session two days before the meeting with Felix to prepare our scripts for the big day on the Hill.
We met on Zoom with Felix Wu on April 10 at 11am. Julie introduced our topic of concern and then introduced Claudia who told her story and concerns. Then Claudia introduced me and I shared my my story. Then we had a Q & A with Felix.
Afterwords the three of us discussed the experience and we all agreed that we presented a good diversity and the fact that each of us described our personal experience benefited our presentation.

Julie discovered her true passion in the practice of homeopathy over 20 years ago. She trained through the School of Homeopathy in Los Angeles, Lou Klein’s Master Clinician course and years of seminars.
She is the founder of the Homeopathic Collective of Los Angeles, better known to the homeopathic community as the “Monday Night Study Group”, where students and practitioners meet each week to study, share knowledge, and consult on cases.
As a current Board Member of NASH, she works to define the role of the professional homeopath, as well as furthering research and education in homeopathy as Director of the NASH Foundation.

Claudia who is a native of Austria shared that homeopathy there is seen as an important tool in a doctor’s toolkit and much more integrated with mainstream western medicine than in the US
Doctors in Austria often prescribes homeopathic medicines as a first line of defense against a variety of common ailments.

I have been a volunteer for Americans for Homeopathy Choice Action since 2024. My family immigrated to America in 1979 from Odessa, Ukraine (then part of the former Soviet Union).
To us, America was known as the “land of freedom”, where we would no longer be persecuted for our beliefs, and would have the opportunity to make lifestyle choices that suited our needs and aligned with our beliefs.
I am a mom of two grown up kids and we have been using homeopathy for many years.
How my Homeopathic Journey Started
My homeopathic journey started with my daughter, who in her teen years developed nasty pimples on her face. The doctor prescribed steroid cream, which made things worse.
I found a homeopath who was able to help my daughter and within a couple of months her skin cleared up. I was so impressed that I decided to learn more about homeopathy and took classes to learn how to use homeopathy in emergency situations. This was over 27 years ago. At that time I bought my homeopathic emergency kit which I still use!
Just one example of how Homeopathy saved me in an Emergency.
I have been carrying a homeopathic emergency kit with me on every vacation. During my summer family vacation 25 years ago, I struck my toe on a rock. I noticed swelling over the whole toe and it was turning red. Soon my whole foot became red and swollen, and I was experiencing shooting pain.
The pain was really bad, and I was shivering. I took Ibuprofen and kept the foot in ice, but nothing helped. I was getting anxious, but recalled that a homeopathic remedy, Ledum, is used for severe tearing and shooting pain in the affected part, with general shivering. Luckily, my homeopathic emergency kit contained Ledum 30C!
After the first dose of Ledum, the pain lessened slightly. After a couple of more doses the condition improved further, the shivering stopped and the pain was quite manageable. Just a couple of hours after the injury, I joined my family at the beach!
Homeopathy has been a precious tool for our family
Homeopathy has been a precious tool to help our family with acute cuts and bruises, headaches, stomach upsets, and has really helped me to optimally heal from various dental procedures.
My family and I have been using homeopathic remedies for many years and we are very concerned that the FDA, which has regulated the manufacture and sale of homeopathic medicines for 80 years, changed the law to say that all homeopathic products are “unapproved new drugs”!
Asking Congress to pass legislation that will protect homeopathic medicines!
My family depends on free access to homeopathic remedies and this FDA action concerns me greatly! In 2024 I became a volunteer for the Homeopathy Action Team (HAT), a national consumer organization working to secure the future of homeopathy in America.
