About ballet Giselle
Giselle is a two-act ballet that tells the tragic story of a young peasant girl, Giselle, who falls in love with a nobleman disguised as a commoner. When she discovers his deception and his engagement to another woman, she dies of a broken heart.
In the second act, Giselle, now a Wili (a vengeful spirit of a woman who died before her wedding), protects her lover, Albrecht, from the other Wilis who seek to dance him to death.
