A Magical Ballet & Theatre Arts Experience for Children 7–10 years
June 22-26, 2026 (Mon–Fri) 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Final Showcase: Sat at 2:00 PM
Step into a fairytale!
Join us for a week-long (4 hours per day) creative adventure where children bring Sleeping Beauty to life through dance, storytelling, and art. Guided by a professional ballet teacher and theatre arts instructor, campers will explore movement, imagination, and performance in a fun and nurturing environment.
DAILY CAMP EXPERIENCE (Mon-Fri)
- Ballet & Movement
Warm-up, technique, and choreography inspired by “Waltz of the Flowers” - Snack Break
- Creative Exploration
Learn the story of Sleeping Beauty, create costumes and artwork
for the showcase exhibit - Theatre Arts
Character development, acting, and storytelling - Rehearsal
Combine dance, theatre, and creativity into performance pieces
Extended Care program
Our core half-day camp runs from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Need a later pick-up? We offer an optional Extended Care program from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. During these two hours, campers will enjoy lunchtime (please pack a lunch!), followed by relaxed, counselor-led activities and games. Extended care is billed at a flat rate of $10 per hour. You can customize your schedule to fit your needs—whether you need your child to stay until 2:00 PM ($10/day) or 3:00 PM ($20/day).
SATURDAY SHOWCASE
Families are invited to a special performance at Will & Ariel Durant Branch Library where students will:
- Perform numbers from Sleeping Beauty production
- Display their original artwork and costume creation

Program Description
Sleeping Beauty Children’s Production Camp (Ages 7–10)
Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM | Saturday Showcase at 2:00 PM
An optional Extended Care program from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Step into a magical world of creativity, movement, and storytelling! Our Sleeping Beauty Children’s Production Camp invites young artists to explore the enchanting tale of princesses, fairies, and adventure through ballet, theatre, and visual arts.
Over five joyful mornings, children will be immersed in a collaborative creative process guided by two experienced instructors—a ballet teacher and a theatre arts teacher. Each day begins with a lively ballet warm-up and foundational technique, where students will learn expressive movement and choreography inspired by the graceful “Waltz of the Flowers.”
After a snack break, campers dive into the story of Sleeping Beauty, discovering its characters, emotions, and themes. Through hands-on art activities, they will design and create costume pieces, props, and visual artwork to be proudly displayed at the final showcase. Theatre sessions will help children bring characters to life using voice, imagination, and stage presence.
Each day concludes with a collaborative rehearsal where students weave together dance, acting, and storytelling—building toward a magical final showcase. On Saturday, families are invited to a special Showcase Performance at 2:00 PM, where children will present what they learned of Sleeping Beauty and share an exhibition of their creative artwork.
Program Outcomes
By the end of the week, participants will:
