Class Structure (90 minutes) for kids 6-10 yrs

The class will have two parts. During the first part, kids will learn basic classical ballet positions and movements which will build balance, coordination, focus and more. The teacher will explain the value of the movements and their practical application in life.

During the second part of the class the kids will participate in a character play, where through the music and movement they can be a flower, a bird, or even a broom. Child Development & Classical Ballet

Classical ballet significantly aids child development by fostering physical, mental, and social growth. It improves strength, coordination, flexibility, and posture. Mentally, it enhances focus, discipline, and memory through choreography. Socially, it builds confidence, self-expression, and teamwork.

Physical Development

  • Strength & Flexibility: Develops long, strong muscles and improves joint flexibility.
  • Motor Skills: Enhances coordination, balance, and body control.
  • Posture: Encourages a straight back, lifted chest, and proper alignment.

Cognitive & Mental Growth

  • Focus & Discipline: Teaches children to listen carefully, follow instructions, and maintain concentration.
  • Memory: Memorizing routines improves cognitive skills.
  • Neurodevelopment: Involves rhythmic movement, which helps build neural pathways.
  • Motor Planning: Enhances the ability to plan and execute a series of actions.

Emotional & Social Development

  • Confidence: Boosts self-esteem as children master new skills and perform in front of others.
  • Expression: Provides a creative outlet to express emotions through music and movement.
  • Social Skills: Fosters teamwork, patience, and the ability to follow instructions in a group setting.

Key Considerations

  • Ideal Age: Ballet is often recommended for children as young as 5, but foundational classes can start earlier.
  • Beyond Dance: The discipline learned in ballet (e.g., dedication, punctuality) translates to better performance in school and daily life.
