Our Mission
Ballet & Identity is a nonprofit arts education organization dedicated to helping children develop confidence, creativity, empathy, and a healthy sense of identity through the integrated study of classical ballet, theatre arts, literature, music, and storytelling.
Our Educational Philosophy
We believe the performing arts are more than artistic disciplines—they are powerful educational tools that help children develop confidence, creativity, empathy, resilience, and a healthy sense of identity. By integrating classical ballet, theatre arts, literature, music, and storytelling, we create meaningful learning experiences that nurture the whole child.
Our Vision
We envision a world in which every child has access to the transformative power of the performing arts as a pathway to confidence, compassion, creativity, cultural appreciation, and healthy identity.
Our non-profit 501c3 organization formed in 2007 under the name of “Dance Into Unity”. The mission of the charity was to raise autism awareness through visible dance productions. We were able to reach thousands of people through the performing arts at various theatre venues in Los Angeles. read our history…
In 2014 our non-profit changed its name to “Autism Unites” (aka Road to Identity), several months before our family member with autism passed away.
Throughout our years of work with young people with and without autism, and the staggering theme of disconnection, grew an understanding and desire to provide a way for all people to connect with themselves and their innate qualities.
Our mission now is to empower people and especially youth to connect with their innate qualities and develop a healthy identity through innovative education in dance & arts. This is true for every age, but especially critical at a young age.
To achieve this mission, we want to engage young people in the culture of classical ballet, which will empower them to develop healthy Identity. Our programs will allow youth to connect with their innate qualities and natural mode of expression, which will in turn drive them to succeed in school and enable them to become valuable assets to our communities.
